Release Notes 4/2/2026: New Pivvot Data Layers
📍 Introducing Three New Data Layers
PFAS Discharge Monitoring – Summarizes NPDES permit data, which tracks pollutant discharges from permitted point sources to U.S. waters using monitoring and reporting data stored in EPA’s ICIS‑NPDES and used to calculate annual pollutant loadings. A key limitation is that PFAS monitoring and effluent limits are inconsistent across states, with incomplete coverage and known reporting gaps, though recent EPA guidance and rulemakings may expand monitoring in the future.
PFAS TRI Destination Facility – Provides location and transfer information for off-site facilities receiving PFAS and other fluorinated chemicals reported under the EPA’s Toxics Release Inventory (TRI), focusing on chemicals added under the NDAA starting in reporting year 2020. It supports public transparency and EPA regulatory prioritization by documenting how TRI-listed PFAS-related chemicals are released, managed as waste, or transferred off-site, with noted limitations based on how PFAS are defined across EPA programs.
PFAS TRI Reporting Facility – Contains location information for facilities that report PFAS and other fluorinated chemicals to the EPA’s Toxics Release Inventory (TRI), focusing on chemicals added under the NDAA beginning with the 2020 reporting year. It documents where TRI-reporting facilities are located and supports public transparency and regulatory oversight of chemical releases and waste management, with limitations based on how PFAS are defined in EPA reference lists.
