Pivvot Data

Pivvot is excited to announce its three newest data additions to the Pivvot database!

FEMA FIRM Panel Boundary

The Flood Rate Insurance Maps (FIRM) Database presents the flood risk information depicted on the FIRM in a digital format suitable for use in electronic mapping applications. The FIRM represent polygon areas with information and metadata describing each panel and a link where the user can go obtain a digital or printed version of the FIRM map. The FIRM are the basis for floodplain management, mitigation, and insurance activities for the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Insurance applications include enforcement of the mandatory purchase requirement of the Flood Disaster Protection Act. In addition to the identification of Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHAs), the risk zones shown on the FIRMs are the basis for the establishment of premium rates for flood coverage offered through the NFIP.

FEMA Base Flood Elevation

The Base Flood Elevation (BFE) indicates the water level from a 1% annual chance flood, shown on Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) for key flood zones in the 100-Year Floodplain. Understanding BFE is essential for assessing flood risks in designated Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHAs). Understanding the Base Flood Elevation (BFE) is crucial for assessing flood risks, determining insurance requirements and premiums, and guiding construction and floodplain management decisions in high-risk areas.

BIA Regions
