Pivvot allows users to create cost estimates for Electric Transmission Routes (ETR) by customizing cost parameters. This feature offers flexibility to compare costs among multiple route options.
ETR Cost Estimation
Pivvot supports creation of a cost estimate for an Electric Transmission Route (ETR). With this feature users will set customized cost parameters for an ETR project and generate a cost estimate and related deliverables.
An ETR project provides planning cost estimates for system generated and uploaded routes. This feature was designed based on the MISO Transmission Cost Estimation Guide. Please visit misoenergy.org to learn more.
You will have the ability to customize the cost parameters, compare costs between multiple routes, and export the results.
Please note-access to ETR Route Cost Estimation is based on your subscription tier. If you need assistance with your subscription, please contact support@pivvot.com.
Create ETR Route Project
To create an ETR project, Select Electric Transmission Routing as the type of project in the project settings screen.
Once select, the ETR configuration cog wheel will appear. Click on the cog wheel to configure ETR settings.
In the cost estimation configuration screen, you will see four categories--Land and ROW, Conductor, Structure, and Structure Construction--with preset values based on MISO standards. You can update these values for the project based on your knowledge.
“Land & ROW” describe the cost of acquiring land per acre based on the present usage. Those units are dollars per acre.
“Conductor” describes the cost per foot for materials to construct the wiring for the transmission line. Those units are dollars per foot.
“Structure Construction” describes the additional costs per acre required to develop on certain terrain types. Those units are dollars per acre.
“Structure” describes the cost to construct each type of tower, and the frequency of interval towers. The units for “Tower Interval (ft)” is feet; the units for all other items is dollars per each item.
Once costs have been set, click the Save button. Then continue to configure your route project as normal.
Generate, View and Download Cost Estimation Reports
Once completed, you can download an estimated cost for each route alternative. On the downloads panel, click the generate cost reports icon
When your cost reports are complete, a green check mark will appear.
Go to the reports console on the left hand side of the screen to view the cost estimation report.
View the report on the Reports menu by selecting the “Route Cost Estimation” report in the list of Summary Reports.
The Cost Estimation Report will give the total estimated cost for each route alternative along with a breakdown of each cost item.
This report can be exported to an Excel file by selecting the Export button.
